The Holiday Season can be a difficult time to infuse healthy incentives into our daily diets and make sure we're getting the nutrients we need to maintain good health. We feel your struggle and we've come up with some healthy ways for you to enjoy some of your holiday favorites by adding an extra boost.
Cranberry sauce is a holiday favorite to accompany any festive meal and we've got a delicious and healthy recipe using Amandean's Premium Grass-Fed Beef Gelatin that will add some superfood nutrition to one of your preferred dishes.
Our Beef Gelatin is made from Grass-Fed, Pasture-Raised South American Cattle and is Non-GMO, Gluten Free, and Fat Free so you can be sure you're using the cleanest variety.
1 small bag organic cranberries (12 ounces)
3/4 cup real maple syrup (You can alter this quantity depending on how sweet you would like the final dish to be)
1 cup orange juice — look for one without preservatives or even try fresh-squeezed
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Couple dashes of sea salt
1 scoop/2 Tablespoons of Amandean's Premium Grass-Fed Beef Gelatin
Another 1/2 cup HOT water
In a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, add everything but the gelatin and the last 1/2 cup of hot water. Boil for 20 minutes or until cranberries break up and it begins to look like cranberry sauce. While it's boiling, in a separate bowl mix the hot water and gelatin together with a whisk, and then stir it into the cranberries. (If lumps form, pour the water/gelatin mixture through a strainer into the pan of cranberries, but if your water is hot and you whisk quickly, it should be fine.)
You can serve this dish cold or hot. If you would like it cold, refrigerate for 1 hour and it will form a beautiful cranberry gelatin. It keeps nicely in the fridge so it's a great make-ahead dish for the holidays.
Enjoy!
