Does a diabetes diagnosis mean an automatic noto your favorite mocktails? Well, when it comes to the usual mocktails served at a local bar, youā€™ll probably have to pass on these as a regular habit (as tempting as those happy hour offers may be!). However, thereā€™s no reason to despair! Standard mixed drinks served in bars, as delicious as they may look on Instagram, are often a mysterious concoction when it comes to ingredients. Preparing your drinks at home may not seem as glamorous and fun, but donā€™t knock it till youā€™ve tried it! Plus itā€™s 2024. The at-home MadĀ Men-style bar is where itā€™s at. Letā€™s get into it.

    Ā

What do you get with our homemade diabetes-friendly mocktails? Besides complete creative freedom and a perfect excuse for a night in with a few close friends, you also get total control over your ingredients, which allows you to maintain your insulin levels but still have fun in the process. Btw, did we mention how incredibly delicious these are?

    Why Add Liposomal Glutathione?

Before we break down some of the most prominent benefits of glutathione, letā€™s talk a bit about adding supplements to your mocktails in the first place. We completely understand how incredibly annoying (and sometimes even overwhelming) keeping up with your supplement routine can get. No one loves swallowing pill after pill after pill. Thatā€™s why weā€™re strong advocates of supplementation that can be added into your favorite recipes, without altering the taste or texture, and without losing any of their valuable health benefits.

    Liposomal Glutathione

One of the main reasons for adding a glutathione supplement into your nutrition is the fact that it is the bodyā€™s master antioxidant. Yes, glutathione is already available in your body, but with factors such as stress, pollution, and toxins (like smoking or processed foods) it becomes depleted - calling for a supplement to restore it to healthy levels. As a potent antioxidant, glutathione acts as a natural detoxifier, aiding the body in getting rid of toxins in the liver, as well as at a cellular level. Whatā€™s more, glutathione also plays a protective role, shielding the cells from damaging oxidative stress.

Thanks to its antioxidant and detoxifying powers, glutathione is of the utmost importance for the normal functioning of our immune system. Being subjected to oxidative stress for an extended period of time can lead to serious health complications. By promoting our glutathione levels, weā€™re providing the body with the necessary fuel for fighting off free radicals and preserving the normal functioning of our immune system.

Speaking of glutathione levels, if youā€™re looking to preserve your cognitive health as you age, this supplement also has an important role to play. Therefore, this master antioxidant is recommended not only in the management of these conditions but also as a protective measure in healthy individuals. Furthermore, it has been found to improve numerous cognitive functions, including memory, focus, and concentration - all by promoting overall brain health.

Glutathione can also act as a natural skin-whitening agent, hence its use as an ingredient in skincare products. If youā€™re struggling with hyperpigmentation, melasma, or any other skin pigmentation issue, consistent supplementation with glutathione may bring about the improvement youā€™ve been wanting from the inside out. Additionally, glutathione has also been found to promote skin elasticity and hydration, helping to manage the visible signs of aging.

    Liposomal Glutathione for Fertility

Male infertility remains one of the most underrated issues often pushed under the rug. Even though a complex notion such as infertility certainly calls for professional treatment, optimal glutathione levels have been linked with positive changes such as improved sperm mobility, as well as a significant improvement in sperm production.

Thyroid conditions impact pretty much every single aspect of health and life, including emotional and hormonal stability, weight, heart rate, breathing, mood, and social relationships. Glutathioneā€™s ability to neutralize free radicals and promote immune functionĀ has been linked to relief when it comes to thyroid-related autoimmune conditions such as Hashimotoā€™s thyroiditis.

And yes, we havenā€™t forgotten about the promised magical hangover cure! Okay, letā€™s not get too excited, as thereā€™s hardly anything that will get you out of the depths of a hangover if you go overboard. Nevertheless, thanks to the role of glutathione in liver detoxification, it has been shown to lower the intensity of hangover symptoms. Powerful detox benefits also make glutathione an ally if youā€™re on a dry period from alcohol consumption, or youā€™re trying to cut out booze altogether.

Finally, a piece of information that may interest you the most is glutathioneā€™s beneficial effects in the management of diabetes. Namely, glutathione appears to play a role in inhibiting diabetes-associated oxidative stress and tissue damage. Low glutathione levels have been detected in patients with uncontrollable diabetes, hence the necessity of glutathione supplementation for those diagnosed with diabetes.

Okay, enough with the science talk - itā€™s almost happy hour.
